Entrepreneurs Win Backing for Innovative Solutions to Water, Sanitation, Energy Problems
Thirty entrepreneurs walked away with seed money to implement their low-cost solutions to delivering safe drinking water, sanitary waste disposal, and nonpolluting sources of light in emerging countries. The entrepreneurs were among 118 finalists of the World Bank Group's Development Marketplace annual competition to encourage innovative solutions for development.
This year's Competition focused on rewarding the best low-cost innovations in basic water, sanitation, and energy delivery services. Winners received grants from the $5 million in prize money during a two-day final round of the global competition in early May. More on the winning projects here.
